CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Courses

Dent County Health Center has multiple instructors certified to teach CPR courses. These courses are available to the general public. Special accommodations can be made for large groups or businesses.

Childcare providers in the County can receive CPR training (Heart Saver with First Aid) for free through our office.

Courses offered

Heart Saver

Heart Saver courses are geared toward the general public. It includes first aid and AED training. These courses are taught in a blended format, meaning you take part of the course online then do the skills testing in person at our office. This is done to offer the course at the most affordable price-point for our community. For special situations, the full in-person Heart Saver course can be offered but at a higher price.

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

BLS courses are designed for healthcare providers such as EMTs, paramedics, pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and others. This course is more technical and higher level than the Heart Saver course. Laypersons can take BLS instead of Heart Saver if they prefer, but they may have more difficulty with the course. BLS courses are offered both fully in person (for groups of 3 or more) or in a blended format similar to the Heart saver course.
