The Dent County Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to fulfill several roles in our office. The exact job description will be tailored to the applicant’s interests and skills. The required aspects of the job are:
1) Communicable Disease Coordinator – This nurse is the primary case investigator and reporter for tuberculosis, COVID-19, influenza, and other diseases.
2) Assist with general nursing duties when needed – Includes immunizations, lab draws, medication administration, patient assessment, and carrying out physician orders or standing orders.
Other aspects which are optional or depending upon the qualifications/interests of the applicant are listed below. Applicant may work in some or all of these domains, but must be able to work in at least two.
1) Community Outreach, which may include building relationships with community organizations and members, providing education to the public and area health professionals, and collecting information and data for community health assessment.
2)Maternal-child health Contract nurse – provide the nursing service and expertise for the MCH grant.
3) Childcare Health Consultation (CCHC) – provide the nursing service and expertise for the CCHC grant, which includes instructing children and childcare providers.
4) Substance use disorder – Develop and oversee additional programs to address substance use disorder in Dent County.
5) Information Technology – Assist or oversee the administration of information systems (EHR, Microsoft 365, etc).
