New Position – Lead Paint Inspector or Risk Assessor

New Position – Lead Paint Inspector or Risk Assessor

We were recently awarded a grant from the CDC in the amount of $184,412 to address the issue of lead poisoning in our area. Dent County has a very low lead screening rate and a high lead poisoning rate. About 50% of our housing stock is at risk of having lead paint. In addition, occupational exposure is also an issue in our county.

To address this issue, we will be increasing our community educational efforts and offering free home inspections to test for lead paint. In order to do that, we’re hiring a lead paint inspector or risk assessor.

We hope to train this individual to assist with other important jobs as well, like restaurant and sewer inspections.

Who Can apply?

Lead occupations are regulated by the State of Missouri. In order to fulfill the duties of this job position, a license as a lead inspector is required. Some combination of education and experience is necessary for the license.
