Public Health Nurse – Immunizations
Serve your community with a job in Public Health! Our mission is to improve the health of all Dent County residents. To further that mission, the Dent County Health Center is seeking a full-time Nurse. Public or community health experience preferred. Job duties to include:
- Immunization administration and inventory management
- Laboratory specimen collection and simple analysis
- Assist with other public health services as the need arises, such as STD testing and treatment, COVID/Flu testing, etc

Lab/Medical Assistant
We are looking for a responsible lab assistant to carry out sampling, testing, and recording in cooperation with the rest of the Health Center team. The position will be primarily responsible for carrying out COVID testing. Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests (CLIA-waived only), including, but not limited to, COVID-19 Antigen and molecular tests, Influenza, Strep, and RSV.
- Register patients, take payments, and answer questions professionally, treating patients with dignity and respect.
- Prepare samples/specimens
- Produce accurate and reliable data and interpret results
- Follow methodologies in carrying routine tasks
- Adhere to correct procedures, policies and health/safety guidelines
- Keep abreast of all industry developments and best practices
- Document all activities, record results and insert/retrieve data
- Maintain work area and equipment
- Provide administrative assistance and other duties as assigned.
- Administer vaccines under the supervision of a nurse.
Skills
- Proven working experience as a lab assistant, or self-driven desire to learn.
- Familiarity with automated laboratory equipment, or self-driven desire to learn.
- Computer literacy and experience electronic health records is preferred.
- Accuracy and close attention to detail
