Dr. Anil Gupta, MD, joins DCHC Team

The Dent County Health Center is pleased to announce a new member of our growing public health team: Dr. Anil Gupta, MD. Dr. Gupta is board certified in Addiction Medicine and Emergency medicine, and provides primary care, treatment of minor injuries, acute illnesses, substance use disorder, occupational medicine, and routine physicals.

The Dent County Health Center’s mission is to improve and protect the health of Dent County residents. Dent County has consistently been near the top of the list for most opioid overdoses in Missouri. We hope that by bringing on Dr. Gupta, we will be able to provide another treatment option for county residents to supplement and compliment what is provided by other organizations.

Access to primary care services is also an issue, as Dent County is a medically underserved community. Wait times for primary care can be long. In addition, our cost to provide care is tailored to people with high deductibles or no insurance. However, we accept most insurances.

Dent County also lacks any kind of walk-in or urgent care facility, making it difficult to find a place to go when one gets sick. Dr. Gupta will see patients with acute illnesses or minor injuries, even if he is not their primary care provider.

April Greener, our Nurse Practitioner, remains on staff and continues to provide high-quality care focusing on children and women’s health. April provides IUD insertion and removal, oral contraceptive pills, Nexplanon insertion and removal, and STI treatment and testing. She also provides well-child visits, well-woman visits, and facilitates our Show-Me Healthy Women program, which provides free breast and cervical cancer screenings to women ages 21 to 64 to those who qualify.

We believe these initiatives will help fundamentally improve the health of Dent County Residents.

Dr. Gupta will begin seeing patients the week of November 4th, 2024.
