Salem, Missouri – August 4th, 2025
The Dent County Health Center announces the upcoming departure of Dr. April Greener, DNP, FNP-BC, who will conclude her service on August 29, 2025. Dr. Greener has accepted a position at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, where she will continue her work in public health by serving students through their campus health clinic.
“It has been an incredible honor to work alongside the dedicated team at Dent County Health Center and care for the wonderful patients who make this community so special,” Dr. Greener said. “This role has not only been professionally rewarding but has also given me a deep sense of connection to the people of Dent County.”
“April’s compassion, clinical excellence, and deep commitment to our mission have made her an invaluable part of our team,” said Zach Moser, Administrator of the Dent County Health Center. “She will be greatly missed, and we wish her all the best in her new role.”
April will continue addressing refill requests until patients have a chance to establish with Kyla or Amanda.
A core strategy of the Dent County Health Center to improve the health of Dent County residents is providing access to affordable and quality healthcare. To ensure this access is uninterrupted, the Health Center is excited to welcome two new nurse practitioners to its clinical team: Kyla Hobson, MSN, FNP-BC, and Amanda Stites, MSN, FNP-BC. Both bring a passion for rural health and a deep connection to the community as residents of Salem.
Kyla joins us from Mercy Convenient Care and Amanda from Mercy’s primary care team. Both are Salem residents with a strong commitment to serving their community through acute illness care, primary care, and women’s health.
Under Missouri law, nurse practitioners working with a new collaborating physician must complete a 30-day on-site period before independently seeing patients offsite from their collaborator. As both Amanda and Kyla are establishing new collaborations, they are expected to begin seeing patients in late September. Appointments can be scheduled now for dates following that period.
”While it is difficult to part with my patients at Mercy Rolla, I am honored to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to individuals and families in Dent County,” said Hobson. “I remain deeply committed to promoting health and wellness across all stages of life and ensuring continuity of care throughout this transition.”
To mark this transition and celebrate Dr. Greener’s years of service, the Health Center will host a Community Open House on Thursday, August 28th, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Health Center. Patients and community members are encouraged to stop by, say farewell to April, and meet Kyla and Amanda.
Appointments with Amanda and Kyla can be scheduled now for dates beginning in September. To schedule, please call (573) 729-3106.
