It has come to our attention that there has been an increase in patients seeking testing in public places, such as Walmart or pharmacies. PLEASE BE REMINDED, DO NOT GO INTO PUBLIC PLACES IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE COVID-19, except at the direction of a medical professional. If you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, wear a mask and get tested.
Testing is available at the Dent County Health Center. A family member or friend without COVID-19 symptoms can go and purchase OTC COVID tests for you, but you should not go yourself if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
If you test positive on an at home test, please consider reporting that to our office so we can accurately track the spread in our community.
For those who test positive, the Dent Co Health Center and Salem Hospital offer monoclonal antibody infusions. Walmart pharmacy in Salem offers Paxlovid, an oral treatment for COVID-19.
The pandemic phase of COVID-19 may be over, but it remains a threat to public health. Everyone must do their part to reduce the chance of spreading the disease. Staying home when you’re sick is extremely important.
Everyone over 6mo old can now be vaccinated against COVID-19 as well. If you have not already gotten vaccinated, make an appointment as soon as possible to get vaccinated.
