Dent County Health Center Remodel/Expansion
I. Introduction
The Dent County Health Center (DCHC) is seeking qualifications from architectural firms to provide design services for the remodel and expansion of its existing facilities located at 1010 E. Scenic Rivers Blvd. The selected firm will work closely with the DCHC to create a facility that meets the growing needs of the community and aligns with public health standards.
II. Project Description
The project involves the remodel and expansion of the current DCHC facilities to accommodate increased patient volume, improve functionality, and enhance service delivery. The scope of work may include, but is not limited to:
- Expansion of clinical and office spaces.
- Renovation of existing areas to improve efficiency and patient flow.
- Upgrades to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and IT systems.
- Enhanced accessibility features in compliance with ADA standards.
- Sustainable design practices to improve energy efficiency.
III. Scope of Services
The selected architectural firm will be expected to provide the following services:
- Pre-Design Services:
- Site analysis and feasibility study.
- Assessment of current facilities and infrastructure.
- Development of a project program in collaboration with DCHC stakeholders.
- Design Services:
- Schematic design options and presentation to DCHC.
- Design development including detailed plans, elevations, and sections.
- Coordination with engineering consultants (MEP, structural, civil, etc.).
- Preparation of construction documents.
- Assistance with permitting and regulatory approvals.
- Grant or public funding mechanism identification and implementation
- Construction Phase Services, if funding is secured:
- Bidding assistance and contractor selection support.
- Construction administration including site visits, progress reports, and issue resolution.
- Final inspection and project closeout.
IV. Submission Requirements
Interested firms should submit the following information to be considered:
- Firm Overview:
- Name, address, and contact information of the firm.
- Brief history and background of the firm.
- Relevant experience in public health or similar projects.
- Project Team:
- Resumes of key personnel who will be assigned to the project.
- Organizational chart showing the project team structure.
- Availability of key personnel throughout the project timeline.
- Relevant Experience:
- Detailed description of similar projects completed in the past five years.
- References from clients for whom similar work has been performed.
- Approach and Methodology:
- Description of the firm’s approach to design and project management.
- Proposed methodology for engaging with DCHC stakeholders and the community.
- Quality control and cost management processes.
- Additional Information:
- Any other information the firm feels is relevant to demonstrate their qualifications.
V. Evaluation Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Relevant experience and past performance on similar projects.
- Qualifications and experience of the proposed project team.
- Understanding of the project and proposed approach.
- Ability to meet the project schedule and budget.
- References and client feedback.

VII. Schedule
- RFQ Issuance Date: September 3rd, 2024
- Submission Deadline: October 11th, 2024
- Interviews (if necessary): Optionally, attend the September 19th, 2024 Board Meeting at 5pm.
- Selection Notification: After October 17th, 2024 (October Board Meeting)

- All costs associated with the preparation of the response to this RFQ are the responsibility of the respondent.
