Dent County Health Center Board of Trustees
Call to Order and Roll Call
Bob Parsons, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.; in attendance were board members Bob Parsons, Bob Gravely, Dennis Floyd, and Carol Lacy. Roma Jones, and Zach Moser were staff present. Board members Lori Hasten were absent during roll call but arrived during Operations reports.
Minutes and Agenda
The minutes for the May 16th meeting were reviewed. Carol Lacy moved to approve the minutes. Bob Gravely seconded, and the motion carried.

All statistics listed are for May 2024 and are reported by Zach Moser unless otherwise stated.
Communicable Disease
- COVID19 – 21 reported cases. New COVID Strain is circulating.
- Lead – 37 active cases
- Sexually transmitted infections – 37 screening encounters and 40 total tests conducted.
- Influenza – 0 cases
- Animal bites – 9
- Avian Flu – There is an outbreak of avian flu in dairy cattle that has spread to some humans, but at this time it is not spreading from human to human. Texas DOH and CDC are monitoring the situation.
Environmental – Roma Jones
- 5 total inspections, 0 recalls, 0 sewer complaints and 31 environmental questions answered during the month.

Administrator Report – Zach Moser
- Lead Poisoning Townhall – There lead poisoning townhall meeting open to the public scheduled August 1st, 5:30pm at the armory.
- Safety Day – June 21st, Walmart.
- Event Recaps – Theme of the summer is “sun safety.” DCHC donated sunscreen to the SMH golf tournament and gave out free sunscreen at the Chamber expo.
- Strategic Plan – Progress on the Strategic Plan was discussed.
Expenses
DCHC financial reports for May, including the review from H&R block, were reviewed. Current Assets at May 31st were $1,080,223.90. Total assets were $1,782,130.53, total liabilities were $183,705.59, and equity was $1,598,424.94. Revenue for May was $95,793.82, expenses were $136,105.76 for net operating revenue of -$40.311.94. After other revenue and expenses, net revenue was -$41,896.54.
Robert Gravely moved to approve the financial reports, and the report from H&R Block. Dennis Floyd seconded. Motion carried.
New Business:
- Financial Audit – The draft of the Financial Audit was presented. Bob Gravely moved to approve the report. Dennis Floyd seconded and the motion carried.

The next regular board meeting date was set for Thursday, July 18th, 2024 @ 5:00 p.m.
With no further business Carol Lacy moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:30 p.m. This was seconded by Lori Hasten and all were in favor. Meeting adjourned.
